Description Aaron Peterson 2004-09-14 05:50:54 UTC
I have the line vga=ask in my grub.conf
I usually chose "a"
now I have to choose "6"
and there is an annoying pengiuin at the top.

I have turned off the bootsplash stuff, or it hasn't been here since 2.6.8-r3 gentoo-dev-sources (using the same kernel-config since 2.6.0 with minor modifications) and genkernel e ... or f...

I should be able to report back with a fix, or what went wrong, just letting you know that there is a problem.

Are you using fbsplash? Are you using vesafb or vesafb-tng?
Comment 2 Michal Januszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-13 12:36:32 UTC
This issue was caused by an error in the vesafb-tng makefiles. Please check the newer kernel versions, the problem should be gone.
Comment 3 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-19 02:31:20 UTC
Please reopen if issue still exists in newer kernels.
