It is a personal fork by hasufell, which has the last edit in 2012. in the ebuild from 2012: SRC_URI="https://dev.gentoo.org/~hasufell/distfiles/${P}.tar.xz mirror://github/gentoo/${PN}/${P}.tar.xz" The package should say that it is a fork, and point to the homepage of the fork. It is unmaintained since a long time and has no dependencies. It could be, that user hasufell has been the only consumer of this package.

The mirror may not be the source [1]. But one could copy to devspace. I suggest to tree clean it. Even its much newer fork is dead and it seems nobody wants to take care for a very simple image viewer with 16y dead upstream. Perhaps a last rite will lead to a new maintainer, who loves this tool.
