Can you try with MAKEOPTS=-j1?
Can't reproduce this, everything goes fine, morover people w/o ruby installation will never even think of this bug (obviously). I have Available Ruby profiles: [1] ruby22 (with Rubygems) * [2] ruby23 (with Rubygems) And tested it against all *in-tree* availible versions of dev-ruby/asciidoctor succesfully. CC ruby, maybe they know something about the bug.
I don't see any obvious issue from the ruby side.
