I found that my new keyboard is not yet supported by X under Gentoo. SuSE seem to have a patch for that, maybe it could be ported to Gentoo? I would really apprechiate to be able to use all the funky keys of this really fine keyboard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. plug cymotion master express keyboard 1. start X 2. run xev 3. press the extra buttons Actual Results: none off the special keys give a symbol and some don't even give a keycode though they all generate events in kernel, as visible using showkey -s. Expected Results: It would be really nice to have all keys generate symbols, but i would settle for keycodes.
can you point us to the patch?
The patch for X be somewhere in there: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/Xorg/Xorg-X11R6.8.0-untested/i386/suse91/sources/xorg-x11-6.8.0-1.1.src.rpm i did not find the patch allone (which i think is named p_xkb-cherryblueb.diff) and i don't know how to unpack rpms. The other (bigger for me) problem is that some keys, as i allready stated don't generate keysyms, which might be a problem of the driver and not of X itself?
