re-emerge elfutils and see if it still happens

i dont have those weird dirs on my box

if it still happens, re-open with `emerge info` like you should have :p

Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-03 11:15:11 UTC
the second qpkg listing you showed looks sane ...
Comment 4 Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2004-10-03 12:31:14 UTC
Yes, that's from the laptop, the one I posted initially still applies for my desktop computer.
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-03 21:30:00 UTC
you said it doesnt work on your laptop but it does on your desktop ...

then you said the second listing (which is correct) is from your laptop ...
Comment 6 Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2004-10-04 08:53:05 UTC
Lol. :)

I said "this is still like this on my desktop", meaning that the problem is still there, and then "but NOT on my laptop." meaning that I'm not having the problem there. ;)
Comment 7 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-28 19:57:09 UTC
i just checked the ebuild and it runs `rm -rf ${D}/usr/usr` now ...

as for the missing doc files in /usr/share, the only thing i can think of is you had FEATURES=nodoc ...

try `emerge sync ; emerge elfutils` and see if it works
Comment 8 Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2004-11-06 23:15:54 UTC
Yeah, works.
Comment 9 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-11-09 21:45:28 UTC
great :)
