Trying to emerge biber fails with:

Hi same problem (/ emerge output)

While downloading from https://github.com/plk/biber/archive/v2.8.tar.gz
there is a 302 redirect to https://codeload.github.com/plk/biber/zip/v2.8.tar.gz
which has the IPs  192.30.253.120, 192.30.253.121
with both IP the file size is 1308112

I have syncing portage tree and the Manifest has been update to reflect the file on github.

After a sync today, it works.
