xorg-x11 6.8.0 emerged and compiled flawlessly and for the most part I have no problems running on 3 monitors with xinerama. However, when I try to enable the eyecandy (dropshadows) with xcompmgr -c, the left and right monitors go darker (as if the entire monitor was dropshadowed), each app window dissapears and all that is left visible is the dropshadow. As well, setting the transperancy doesn't seem to do anything at all. Any chance you're using metacity?
The composite extension is not stable yet and therefore it's disabled by default. I think you should report this to freedesktop's bugzilla instead!
Simon has a point. Try filing a bug at bugs.freedesktop.org against xcompmgr. Once you do, please post the URL here so we can track it upstream.
Oh, make sure you're using the latest xcompmgr before you do. That'd be 1.1.1.
Please post the URL to the bug here after you've tested the latest xcompmgr and xorg and shown they don't work.
