Can you please post your config.log?
sorry---which directory is config.log in? regards, /iaw
/var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.51-r1/work/httpd-2.0.51
fascinating...I decided to reemerge apache, rather than just sending you the config file. in the meantime, a couple of other packages were updated. well, now apache emerges as 2.0.51---and correctly, too. So, this one seems to have been fixed. In case you are interested in chasing this one down, I can send you a copy of the old config.log file, but this seems like a waste of time now. regards, /iaw
yes, I would like to take a look at the old config.log
configure:6676: result: checking dependencies conftest.c:37:17: apr.h: No such file or directory configure:6711: checking whether to enable mod_auth_digest configure:6717: error: mod_auth_digest has been requested but can not be built due to prerequisite failures Hmm. Looks like apr.h is missing somehow. Bad extraction? Im not sure how this would normally happen....
yes, this is definitely strange. portage does compare md5 sums on the archives, so that must have been ok. I tried to emerge it twice and got the same problem twice. I hate computers...
Which portage version are you using? If your using bleeding edge (.51), have you got keepwork in FEATURES (in /etc/make.conf)? If you run into this again, could you `rm -r /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.51*' (you may wanna back it up first!), emerge apache, and see if the bug bites you again? ;-)
