Description Daniel Koszta 2017-10-20 06:04:43 UTC
Unfortunately, I don't know which package this bug should belong to, but I'll
try to describe the issue the best I can.

I'm using KDE and I have a widget on my panel to switch users. After a recent
system update (less then 1 week), the "New Session" button doesn't work. (In this case "doesn't work" means that absolutely nothing happens when I click on it. Even the rolldown menu stays there.)

Comment 2 Daniel Koszta 2017-10-22 09:42:41 UTC
I have now added the following to /etc/portage/package.use:

    x11-misc/sddm elogind

After reinstalling sddm and rebooting, it works now.
Comment 3 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2017-10-22 11:52:25 UTC
If you decide to switch to elogind, you should set USE="-consolekit elogind" globally.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it.

However, I wouldn't consider this truly resolved as it _should_ work with "consolekit -elogind", no? Is there something I could do to help reproduce/debug this issue? (I assume you tried it, but you couldn't reproduce it.)
