xorg 6.8 crashes and restarts when any mouse button is click in gdm or gnome. Xorg.0.log does not have any info releated to the crash. I'm using xorg 6.8 with a nvidia 5200 modile card. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start gdm 2. click and mouse button 3.

Same here on KDE, any mouse click immediatly restars the computer. It happens a lot, not always. I encountered the same problem.
The GNOME desktop can be started with startx, and if I click on the wallpaper, everything is OK. But if I click on the panel(top or buttom), desktop crashes.
It seems to be a problem with xorg 6.8 being built with gcc 3.4, switch back to gcc 3.3 using the following commands and rebuild xorg-x11 6.8 # gcc-config i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.3.4 # source /etc/profile # emerge xorg-x11

I also experienced this problem when building with gcc 3.4 and -march=pentium4, if I switch back -march=pentium3 everything is ok. Looks like a bug in gcc.
