I have no problems loading small files with fish here...
Comment 2 Aben Siatris 2004-09-08 06:08:22 UTC
this problem is in two different computers with KDE 3.3.0
limit for file is cca 1.2kb
Comment 3 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-08 08:39:50 UTC
Tried it with a 7MB pdf w/o any problem.
Comment 4 Aben Siatris 2004-09-08 08:58:31 UTC
smaller file as 1.2kb is problem downloading from machine:

Linux pizza 2.4.26 #1 SMP Sat Apr 24 11:25:16 CEST 2004 i686 unknown
This is perl, v5.8.3 built for i386-linux-thread-multi
OpenSSH_3.4p1 Debian 1:3.4p1-1.woody.3, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x009060cf

but downloading form this machine it is ok:
FreeBSD server1 4.10-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE-p2 #2: Sun Jul 4 12:37:45 CEST 2004 i386
This is perl, v5.8.4 built for i386-freebsd-64int
OpenSSH_3.5p1 FreeBSD-20030924, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090704f

.fishsrv.pl is the same.

same result from two desktop computers with KDE 3.3.0

"Nice" - opening a ~500 bytes file via fish in emacs works fore me, but doing the same with kwrite: nada. A related issue: Copying a (small) local file to a remote host via fish, changing the local directory and copying it back, let a message box pop up, that you have to rename the file. O.k., done - what do guess where to find the renamed file!? Exactly - not in the current directory, but in the same of your original file...

Tried the same via webdav:/, which works fine, so this seems to be a fish/file caching problem.
