Description urcindalo 2017-09-20 09:26:10 UTC
Please, add the newest amdgpu-pro-opencl-17.30.465504 version to the tree.

When you follow the latest ebuild directions and download the suggested file from https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDGPU-PRO-Driver-for-Linux-Release-Notes.aspx, the version provided upstream is 7.30.465504 instead of the 17.30.458935 expected by the current ebuild.

Thank you for the bump request.
You can help the maintainer with further information:
Does a simple bump [1] work on your system?
Chances are high, because a first look on the bump revealed only small changes.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't know if a simple bump would workd because I ended up taking the whole dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl folder from the salfter overlay (http://gpo.zugaina.org/dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl) and putting it in my local /usr/portage/local overlay.

The resulting installation works like a charm with my Radeon RX 470 and now darktable performs as fast as it should ;)

Thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately it will be another week or so before I have access to the machine on which I can test this package, will take care of the bump as quickly as I can afterwards.

$ uname -a
Linux Urci 4.12.12-gentoo #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Sep 16 23:01:39 CEST 2017 x86_64 AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

=====

I use a mostly stable box, so it's the latest stable amd64 gentoo-sources: v4.12.12

Managed to get my hands on the Radeon box a bit more quickly and the new version seems to work fine for me as well, so... enjoy! Thank you for your patience.
