Currently something such as [[Wikipedia:Linux]] generates an HTTP link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux). We should use HTTPS links instead.

This is true. I will look into fixing this.

With that being said, outgoing links to Wikipedia are automatically redirected to HTTPS.
