Any package that installs such braindead-named files is bound to conflict with something sooner or later. a) the switch command could be part of every other package, the upstream authors just choose some more descriptive name b) it does not even start with g as is the case with most gtk or gnome related apps Suggest renaming to gtk-theme-switch and gtk-theme-switch-2 or at least gtswitch or somesuch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. USE=ppc emerge gtk-theme-switch =gtk-theme-switch-1.0.1-r1 Actual Results: conflicts with system man page switch.1 Expected Results: installs files with unique descriptive name OS X 10.3
Reassigning to maintainer, which I think is seemant. This should be coordinated cross-platform.
Michael -- I'm unclear on your complaint -- is there some other package in portage which provides a switch.1 man page?

Sorry for the late reply, ip robably overlooked the first mail. Anyway, it is written in the short description: the switch.1 man page is present in the system OS X 10.3 So the problem is a) the name of the files of in the package is too unspecific b) because of a) the package conflicts with the system
fixed in -r2 of both slots
