Receive the following error starting gnome-contacts-3.22.1 from a terminal:

(gnome-contacts:8689): folks-WARNING **: Error preparing persona store ‘eds:1504200590.3255.9@tux’: Couldn’t open address book ‘1504200590.3255.9@tux’: Unable to connect to “Contacts”: Backend factory for source “1504200590.3255.9@tux” and extension “Address Book” cannot be found.


Receive the following error in evolution-3.24.5:

This address book cannot be opened.  This either means that an incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.

Detailed error message: Unable to connect to “Contacts”: Backend factory for source “1504200590.3255.9@tux” and extension “Address Book” cannot be found.

Thank you for your report. To me it sounds like 
a bug in the software provided upstream or a misconfiguration in your system [3].
Does the same source work for you on another distribution?
If it works on other distributions, but not on Gentoo Linux, I suggest to discuss this problem 
on a related mailing list, forum or IRC channel. I have had very good experience on the 
Gentoo IRC [1], of course there are also forums and mailing lists. [2]

I will close this bug here, because I do not see a relation to the gentoo ebuild or the way 
Gentoo handles this special software package. Please provide more information, if I am wrong.

Please create one ticket per package next time.

I have two Gentoo boxes: one stable on X, one ~amd64 for gnome with wayland.
For the stable box, google contacts works fine with gnome-contacts.
For the experimental box, the latest packages do not work with google contacts. May be how the new evolution-data-server package builds support for google. I noticed significant differences on how the ebuild enable support for google.
