Both, 2004.1 and 2004.2 live-cds universal, kde, gnome, are missing kernel drivers for the iMacs G3 400 DV onboard ethernet device eth0: Digital DS21143 Tulip. In both kernels those (tulip) drivers are disabled and only the bmac and gmac drivers are enabled. No network connection over ethernet is possible with an iMac G3 until a new kernel is compiled. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. see /proc/config.gz for "thernet" 2. see lspci on an iMac G3 400 DV Sokrates:/# lspci 0000:00:0b.0 Host bridge: Apple Computer Inc. Thnxs, I'll add this to 2004.3. Betas should be asap.
On the beta. I'll let you know when it's online.
