Upon typing spacetripper-demo at the prompt to launch the game the first time I get the following output and it won't run: Welcome to Space Tripper! I'm on it... as soon as I find some time.
Found that things get installed correctly in the home directory if I change line #11 of /opt/spacetripper-demo/spacetripperdemo to the following: SPACETRIPPER_DIR='/opt/spacetripper-demo' instead of SPACETRIPPER_DIR='XYZZY' But then I get the below error after the display flashes: Welcome to Space Tripper! X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 135 (XFree86-VidModeExtension) Minor opcode of failed request: 10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode) Value in failed request: 0xb6 Serial number of failed request: 102 Current serial number in output stream: 104
With a change of that one line in /opt/spacetripper-demo/spacetripperdemo, from my prior post, and info from the support pages of www.pompomgames.com I was able to get the game to run. The additional change was in /home/myuser/.spacetripperdemo/run/config.cfg I changed render_resolution 1.000000 to render_resolution 4.000000 Works just fine now.
Well, I fixed the sed problem. The resolution issue appears to be with your local client, as I have no problems with the game without making that change. Do you have all of the standard video modes defined in your X config file?
I have all the resolutions in my xorg.conf, but just recently found out that my video drivers were corrupted, and had to re-merge them. That may have been the resolution problem.
Well.... I'm marking this one FIXED then...
