On 2017-07-18 a mail inquiring project status was sent to project alias. I do not have any reply registered for this project.

If you have not received the mail, please contact me. If I missed your reply, then I'm sorry, please just let me know. Otherwise, please look into replying to that mail. The reply is important to determine the project status and the steps to follow.

The only project member is vapier who hasn't been seen or heard of since May. There are 39 bugs assigned to sandbox@ currently. Only recently we've had a major problem getting path length fix to it.

Considering that the sandbox is a crucial component of Portage ecosystem which needs an active maintainer, and the Sandbox project simply doesn't work, I think we should disband it and look for new maintainers.

I'm certainly interested in helping out, especially given the recent problems caused by Sandbox. I think Portage team might also want to become a co-maintainer on this package.

Ok, after talking to #gentoo-portage, I'm going to join the project and try to revive it a bit.
