http://ftp.acc.umu.se/pub/gnome/sources/gthumb/3.5/ Version 3.5 is out, with bug fixes and nice features (like optional double-click on thumbnail to open image, in place of single-click). Would be nice to have an ebuild for it.
Thank you for the bump request. You can help the maintainer with further information: Does a simple bump [1] work on your system? Chances are high, because a first look on the bump revealed only small changes. [1] https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Custom_repository#Simple_version_bump_of_an_ebuild_in_the_local_overlay
Actually yes, bumped the ebuild with no modification, and it works like a charm. Enjoying version 3.5.1 right now.
I will not add 3.5.1 as it is an early development release with no releases yet after a February one. I will however bump to the latest stable series bug fix release 3.4.5, which is out since April.
I guess we could consider a p.masked 3.5.x, but it'd be nice to at least have a newer and hopefully more polished 3.5.2 from upstream if not yet ready for 3.6 commit 7d48f74480a6763ae972c20362994b55a7dc5931 Author: Mart Raudsepp <leio@gentoo.org> Date: Mon Jul 31 05:48:34 2017 +0300 media-gfx/gthumb: bump to 3.4.5 Reorders dependency list to the order found in configure.ac for easier checking of updates. Remove unnecessary libSM and libICE deps, which aren't needed since libegg (smclient) usage was removed in January 2014. Fix gsettings-desktop-schemas dep to be a build dep too, because configure checks for it at build-time.
3.5.1 does not seem appropriate to add. If the next 3.5.x alpha/beta release comes out, you can request it again and we might add it p.masked (specify/remind that in your next 3.5 bump request to increase the chances), but 3.5.1 is too old (5 months old; many changes since then already) and too early alpha release. Upstream says: The 3.6.0 version is planned in late September or October, there will be some 3.5.x releases before that.
