The linuxrc script try to find a cdroot to mount by look at the /newroot/dev/cdroms/*, but in my machine (RS/6000 7043-260) the directory "cdroms" does not exist insted the script have to look at /newroot/dev/sr*. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Just boot 2. 3.
I currently own a 7043-260. Which livecd version are you trying to use? This was fixed in 2004.2-beta4, you can pick it up at http://dev.gentoo.org/~tgall/ (beta4 pSeries). I didn't try beta5 yet, but shouldn't have any surprises.
I am using the LiveCD beta4 from http://dev.gentoo.org/~tgall.
beta5 is broken on scsi cdrom for me again.
Yup my Fault! on pSeries, beta4 is fine to use. The only addition for beta 5 was JS20 support
Spinning Beta 6 currently!
Greetings, I'm going to mark this as fixed. the current set of available livecds for pSeries should address this issue. Please test! if it doesn't I'd like to know ASAP! Thanks!
no activity in over a month after the test request. Going to presume the currently available 2004.2 and 2004.3 livecds address the problem.
