I get the following output on 'emerge openoffice-ximian':

Oh, I forgot:

I have net-misc/curl-7.12.0-r2 installed here.

Can't reproduce that one, could you try to re-emerge curl and see if that helps? Also do you have /usr/include/curl/curl.h ?
