I've just done a new installation of Gentoo 1.2, and I've rsynced portage, and updated everything, as of 2002-08-08 @ 23:30. While attempting to merge courier 0.39.2, I encountered an error just after the courier source was unpacked: >>> md5 ;-) courier-0.39.2.tar.gz >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking courier-0.39.2.tar.gz /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh: /usr/portage/net-mail/courier/files/courier-0.39.2-gentoo.diff: No such file or directory !!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully. !!! Function src_unpack, Line -162, Exitcode 1 !!! (no error message) !!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/net-mail/courier/courier-0.39.2.ebuild . Any spelling mistakes above are mine, I had to retype the message from another system. Anywho, I had a look in the courier files dir, and there's a diff for courier 0.39.1. I had *just* done an rsync prior to running emerge courier. I've also looked in http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/gentoo-x86/net-mail/courier/files/ and there's no courier-0.39.2-gentoo.diff there either. Has the package maintainer forgot to add the file to cvs? Or is there no patch, and it was overlooked in one of the ebuild files? -- Duke.
The file has been verified to be available on the rsync servers by multiple users. Please do the following to update your portage tree and install courier. emerge rsync emerge courier rsync mirrors should be all up to date by now.
