Description Timo Gurr (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-29 15:37:22 UTC
emerge beep-media-player -pv

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] media-sound/beep-media-player-0.9.7_rc2 +alsa -debug -esd -gnome +mikmod +nls +oggvorbis +opengl 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge beep-media-player
2.
3.

Actual Results:
checking for libglade-2.0... Package libglade-2.0 was not found in the
pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libglade-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libglade-2.0' found
configure: error: Cannot find libglade

!!! ERROR: media-sound/beep-media-player-0.9.7_rc2 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 362, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed

Expected Results:
should have emerged without errors / should have emerged libglade before /
should have libglade as dependency added

the ebuild in portage is old and bugged, try with the one you can find in bug #61211 (just rename it rc2).
Comment 2 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-31 12:07:59 UTC
Adding missing dependency to the existing 0.9.7_rc2-r1 ebuild. Thank you for your report.
