Setting a 30 minute auto reload Preference on a newsfeed doesn't work

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Setup an RSS feed
2.Goto feed properties
3.select auto reload 30 minute period

Actual Results:  
it never 'auto reloaded'

Expected Results:  
should have found new news items without user manual request

Do you get an error message after 30 minutes is up when you run it from a 
terminal?

This has been working for me daily since 1.7 was released.

Recvd email from poster saying it only auto-updates if you have the application minimized. Upstream maintainer has been notified.
