Description Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2017-06-07 12:43:38 UTC
During the last version bump I noticed that our conf file has only one variable in it:

  # Distributed monitoring users will want to configure here the ip/hostname
  # of the central server. It will be used by submit_check_result_via_nsca.
  NAGIOS_NSCA_HOST="localhost"

That variable isn't used anywhere in the init script, though. Is it obsolete? The next time we do a version bump I might try to drop the conf file and see what happens.

Good catch, yes, seems it's something obsolete.
Comment 2 Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2017-08-20 18:45:33 UTC
I've dropped it from the latest nagios-core ebuild, and will remove it whenever I'm allowed to drop nagios-3.x (never, at this rate).
