Speaking as behalf of Gentoo MATE project. Please set up git overlay/repo named mate-gtk2, aimed to contain the last MATE version that still supports entirely gtk2. Soonish will be planned the removal of MATE versions from portage tree that have a support to gtk2. All developers on MATE project should have access.
Sorry for the delay in attending to your request. Do you still need this repository created?
(In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #1) > Sorry for the delay in attending to your request. Do you still need this > repository created? Upstream seems unlikely to provide [much] ongoing legacy support for gtk2 because multiple newer branches (gtk3-only) seem to be a higher priority for development: I think an overlay (or repo) is still a good plan, and this sets realistic expectations. Would allow for interested parties to look after their own interests without taking time away from stabilizing gtk3 versions in the main tree. In the past few months on IRC, there was some talk & casual debate about dropping gtk2 support, but very few active participants were in the conversation; this topic is likely more appropriate for a mailing list to get a feel for overall user and/or developer support.
New repo repo/proj/mate-gtk2.git with write access to current MATE team members per wiki has been created. Once the first push is made, please let me know and I'll add it to repositories.xml.
Ping. No commits still.
Don't have the time or energy to continue this. Can you nuke the repo please?
Sure, done.
