I may just be being at total dunce, but when I went to bootstrap the system, I saw the -f option and thought, "Great! I can d/l the sources I need and not jam up my net connection d/ling each one over the next couple of hours", but of course bootstrap -f downloads all of the sources for everything (is that correct, it seemed to, I was tipped off after the fourth version of automake was downloaded). At anyrate, it might be worth noting that distinction in the manual, perhaps it is obvious and I just need more coffee. At any rate, hopefully I have not wasted your time with this, but it did bite me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run bootstrap -f 2. 3. Actual Results: It downloads everything, not just downloads everything I need for the current stage. Which was not the anticipated result, but it no doubt correct for the script to do.
bootstrap -f fetches the sources that it needs, not for the entire installation but for the bootstrapping. The description in the GH is accurate.
