I emerged the latest ximian openoffice, and found that the spadmin program (from /opt/Ximian-OpenOffice/program. The script is still there in ~/.xopenoffice/1.1.2 but it doesn't point to anything. I need it to add fonts. Is there another procedure for that in the ximian version? or is something missing from the sources? I haven't tried the binary install yet. Otherwise it's great. I'm using it in gnome with no other problems. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge and try! 2. 3. spadmin is not necessary anymore, openoffice-ximian automatically uses your gnome font settings, so if you want to add a new font, just copy it to ~/.fonts (or one of the global dirs)
