For several years, I've deployed OwnCloud in a departmental-sized environment (200 users). Inexplicably and suddenly, the most-current 10.0.0 (in Portage) has the LDAP-integration missing... none of my users could log in, and all sync-apps ceased to function. Adding to the fun is a check/stop within OwnCloud if you try to downgrade/restore what was working moment earlier: this is unsupported and cannot proceed. The result: you're screwed (if you were using LDAP). No way forward, no way back. As a result, please remove 10.0.0 and later, until upstream OwnCloud developers resolve this absolutely-critical, show-stopper bug. Thanks.
It looks like upstream fixed it in 10.0.1: https://owncloud.org/blog/owncloud-x-10-0-1-released/ I don't have access to the Gentoo tree this week, but until I add this version you can copy the 10.0.0 ebuild to 10.0.1 and install it manually (especially if owncloud itself disallows downgrades)
Perfect timing! The announcement you refer to, Bernard, specifically leads with a mention of restoring LDAP-functionality. It looks like a version-bump to owncloud-10.0.1 would likely resolve my complaint. Thank-you,
Thanks, 10.0.1 is now in tree. I have not tested the LDAP "reintegration" myself, but from the release notes, it should be fine.
