I propose to remove dev-java/ibm-jdk-bin from Prefix Portage tree symmetric to: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/dev-java/ibm-jdk-bin?id=c81802f494ee9697d3667ec2d29ddce4d9d1568b See: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/proj/prefix.git/tree/dev-java/ibm-jdk-bin/files
haubi, this is your call, I think.
My motivation here is not to remove some ebuild I don't like, but to see Prefix tree and main tree merged one day. That'd mean this ebuild will either have to be removed or merged into main tree, and the latter seems to be unlikely.
While I agree to merge Prefix tree with main tree, I doubt we will ever get completely rid of the Prefix tree as such, because some things need a playground before hitting the main tree. Independent of that: I still do need the IBM JDK in the company where I roll a Prefix fork with stable keywords. Given the unclear (=bad) state of Java in main tree, I'm still undecided whether I should completely take Java ebuilds into the company overlay or continue with the Gentoo ones. Once I get around to it, depending on the state of Java in main tree then I'll do the update there or move to the company overlay. Unless you insist, meanwhile I prefer to "park" these ebuilds in Prefix overlay - but they shouldn't hinder the Prefix tree from closing whenever we get there.
