I have been attempting to get Gentoo installed and have run into numerous package issues, some of which I was able to resolve or bypass. sys-devel/autoconf-2.13 however, I have been stuck on.

It gets to the end of the compile, and as it goes to create/use the Makefile, it runs smack into a permissions issue and the build fails. Looking at the directory/file reveals that there are no permissions on the Makefile (0000). Attempting chmod or chown fails (package just does it again). I tried using newer versions, however several other packages depend on autoconf-2.13 and my installation cannot continue until this is resolved.
