Description gentoobugs 2017-04-19 21:35:39 UTC
SpiderOak One has a new version - notes title (and link) has a wrong year typo. :)

It seems that the name of the package has changed from spidearoak-bin-<ver>_amd64.deb to spideroakone-<ver>_amd64.deb

I am going to try to create a new ebuild :-)
Comment 2 Fernandez-Alcon, Jose 2017-04-22 17:08:18 UTC

I have created a new package (app-backup/spideroakone) and the corresponding ebuild spideroakone-6.1.9.ebuild.

I have modified spideroak-bin-6.1.5.ebuild to add a block so that it cannot be installed alongside any package of spideroakone.

The spideroakone package has a block so that it cannot be installed along side the with spideroak-bin.

The ebuilds can be found in my testing overlay: https://gitlab.com/jfa/blackmagic

If the gentoo devs agrees with this been a good solution I will create a pull request against gentoo tree.

Should I also modify spideroak-bin-6.1.3.ebuild so that it doesn't install alonside spideroakone?

Your ebuild for: app-backup/spideroakone-6.2.0 works fine for me, after reinstalling libng:1.2, which I no longer had on my system. With my unstable profile I had only libpng-1.6.29 installed. Should there perhaps be a dependency for libpng:1.2 in the ebuild?

AFAIK the renaming and blocking seems logical...

Thanks for the ebuild update!
Comment 5 Fernandez-Alcon, Jose 2017-05-12 20:53:34 UTC
SpiderOak has pulled back 6.2.0 because of some issues apparently. Currently the most stable and safe version is 6.1.9.
Comment 6 Matthias Langer 2017-05-19 19:50:09 UTC
I've just installed app-backup/spideroakone-6.1.9 from you repo and it seems to work fine, except for the libpng issue mentioned above.

6.3.0 is out, per email:

Dear <me>,

The SpiderOak team makes your security and privacy our first priority. Recently we investigated and resolved three bugs reported by security researchers at Aarhus University (Denmark) in April 2017. The bugs were found in SpiderOak Groups and SpiderOak ONE (version 6.1.5).

While these were all real bugs, they were unintended behavior that we are happy to report as resolved. A new version of SpiderOak ONE has been issued which addresses these bugs, version 6.3.0. Please consider this release a security upgrade and install it on your devices as soon as possible. Downloads are available at https://spideroak.com/opendownload/

While we want to emphasize the importance of upgrading to this new version, we also want to emphasize that there has been no breach or compromise of user data, and no immediate danger to your account or files. Please see this article on our blog for a complete explanation of what the bugs were and how we addressed them: https://spideroak.com/articles/security-update-for-spideroak-groups--one-bugs-reported--resolved

Please let us know if you have any questions, and be sure to update to the latest patched version, version 6.3.0 of SpiderOak ONE.

All the best,
The SpiderOak Team

Okay I bumped to 6.3.0. I don't use this package so please test to see if this works and reopen this bug if there's some issue.

It works for me on AMD64 system.
I think you could start the stabilization process.
