This is an upstream bug, https://code.google.com/p/git-repo/issues/detail?id=240
(In reply to Austin English from comment #6) > This is an upstream bug, > https://code.google.com/p/git-repo/issues/detail?id=240 That bug isn't accessible anymore, and I haven't found where else to report it (#android and #android-dev on Freenode didn't seem to know either). In the meantime, I'm hosting it on my devspace to work around the generated tarball issue. Fixed by https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/commit/1893752ce39ad2237260bfb60139a3f1989a9df5
