Flag to enable or disable options for prebuilt (GRP) packages (eg. due to licensing issues) This is not clear to me: 1. Which options for prebuilt (GRP) packages does it enable or disable? 2. Does USE="bindist" enable or disable the intended options under 1? Or should the definition be read as: Enables distribution of binary packages when source distibution is prohibited (eg. due to licensing issues)?
no, it's not that -- the one example I can think of off-hand is the microsoft core fonts in xfree packages (possibly xorg-x11 as well) where we can NOT distribute those fonts in tbz2 packages on our cds or binary package mirrors. There, bindist is used to disable those fonts from being included. If you can think of a better description, I'm happy to hear it.
benoit, you see the comment I made above?
