I've stumbled across this project : http://mike-fabian.github.io/ibus-typing-booster/index.html and i find it highly useful for my needs, when writing in multiple languages. I'm currently testing a custom ebuild for it, and will attach it to this report once i find it in satisfactory shape. If no one wants to take care of this package, i might do it as proxy maintainer as well.
Created attachment 466330 [details] ibus-typing-booster-1.5.24.ebuild adding initial ebuild. seems to work fine for me.
after installation user has to run ibus-setup and add language with "booster" in the name to his input methods, switch to it and then simply run gtk/qt app and start typing. works as presented in the videos on the website. Ebuild probably needs checking whether it can provide more use flags, etc.
It is worth noting that disabling emoji suggestion support in preferences causes a major performance improvement. Also, bumping the ebuild to 1.5.25 (just copying it under new name is enough).
1.5.29 is out, just bumping the ebuild is enough to have it work.
