On my notebook:

eclean-dist -p  3019.44s user 737.54s system 68% cpu 1:31:22.60 total


dfclean  8.64s user 3.24s system 6% cpu 3:01.00 total

The advantage in speed becomes noticeable in the presence of overlays.
