probably a bad configuration file in ~/.kde/share/config/
I could reproduce this on my amd64 and x86 machines by clicking an overdue task in the overview window of kontact.
Looks like the same problem I was having. This was from a stage 3 install of Gentoo and then just `emerge xorg-x11 kde` and thats it. Not sure what config would be messed up in that... any ideas on where to check? 'kontactrc' looked ok, at least no corruption or other obvious problems. This should be fixed in 3.3.2.
