When installing k3b:5 from the kde overlay, the compilation and startup works, but immediately after startup the program shows a message: Unable to find cdrskin executable K3b uses cdrskin in place of cdrecord. Solution: Install the libburn package which contains cdrskin Don't know what the best solution for this is (useflag and runtime dependency or a message?), but it would be nice, if you fix this somehow, without the need of manual installation of libburn.
How important is this package to k3b operation? We could just make it a hard dependency.
Cannot say this, I use k3b only for ripping. But after some research, I found this (first commit to cdrskin in last November): > Summary: > It is skeleton of migrating to cdrskin, so it might be full of bugs, I > need to be faimilar with cdrskin command... (Source: https://github.com/KDE/k3b/commit/88c0c90659b3dcde527788c3d79ce70fa9582b40) So it might be some plan to migrate to cdrskin instead of cdrecord from cdrtools. Nevertheless libburn is not mentioned in the installation instructions: https://github.com/KDE/k3b/blob/master/INSTALL.txt I think making libburn a hard dependency has no real disadvantages, because it's in the tree and all libburn versions are stable anyway.
