"This utility is intended to be the Linux equivalent of the DOS-only  
utility PHDISK.EXE from Phoenix. This utility prepares and formats the  
hibernation partition for notebook computers that use Phoenix NoteBIOS." 
 
attached the tarball to extract in /usr/portage. the ebuild passes lintool.

An ebuild for lphdisk already exists in portage, although masked.

Please try
# ebuild /usr/portage/app-misc/lphdisk/lphdisk-0.9.1 merge

and let us know if that works for you.

oops, haven't seen this. the masked one seems to work fine here too!
