Thanks for letting us know. A temporary workaround was provided by copying the python eclass to the overlay [1]. This means that the issue can be closed here, although it will continue to be tracked in the overlay's bug tracker [2]. python.eclass removed now. Bugs for the remaining repositories will be filed through the regular channel.
