About: Estraier is a full-text search system for personal use. Its principal purpose is to realize a full-text search system for a Web site. It functions similarly to Google, but for a personal Web site or sites in an intranet. It has fast searching, conspicuous results, relational document search, the ability to handle Japanese text, and support for handling a large number of documents. Installation is easy.
There are some issues making an ebuild for this software, because the application depends on libiconv, which is masked. According to emerge this package breakes gnome-vfs, evolution and it also overwrites a file of glibc.
Yeah I don't see libiconv being unmasked any time soon (or ever). Last issue I had related to this (app-text/vilistextum), we had to patch vilistextum to work with glibc's iconv.
In light of comments #1 and #2, closing as WONTFIX.
