app-dicts/gwaei seems to be effectively dead as well. Perhaps this could be transitioned to Gjiten Kai <https://github.com/odrevet/gjitenkai> which seems to be actively maintained and with feature parity with the the original Gjiten?

I wasn't able to find any overlays with ebuilds for Gjiten Kai so I made a working, but not extensively tested, ebuild and opened bug 621070 with the new package. I'm not sure that I'm the best candidate for being a proxy maintainer, but I'm happy to try in the interim as there doesn't appear to be a comparable replacement currently available in portage.
