After emerging gnomeicu 0.99.5 i can only run it as root. Starting it as User gives a Box with the following message: ### Error message ### You have reached this dialog because we detected you do not have a proper configuration key installed for GnomeICU. The possible cause is that you forgot to install the configuration keys from gnomeicu.schemas. Please contact your package maintainer about that, or you can contact us directly at gnomeicu-support@lists.sourceforge.net The configuration key in question is: /apps/gnomeicu/general/themes/icons The program will now close... ### end error message ### Please see http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/cooker/2003-04/msg00622.php to see if that helps fixing the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge gnomeicu 2. start 'gnomeicu' as user Actual Results: check the bug details for a description Expected Results: start normal - as it seems to do that when running it as root
can you attac your full build log ?
Created attachment 37706 [details] contains all output from 'emerge -v gnomeicu' hope that helps
Hi, i have the same problem with gnomeicu. Do you need some information of my system? Thanks, bye, b52
can you try running as root /usr/bin/gconftool-2 --makefile-install-rule /etc/gconf/schemas/gnomeicu.schemas and tell me if it helps... Anyone from the gnome team has any idea why the schema does not install properly ?
nope.. not atm without further info @reports, please also post 'emerge info'
Seems like something gnome/gnomeicu related changed in the meantime. Today i tried again (without having changed anything on gnomeicu - only applied all updates from gentoo since the last try) and gnomeicu seems to run normal. No idea what went wrong - i'm unable to reproduce the bug anymore.
