I had installed udev (and prevented devfs from starting), and after a while, my mouse wouldn't respond at all. I rebooted and it was the same. I switched back to devfs and it was working again. It's strange that it didn't stop working at the start of when I first booted into the udev-only system. I noticed that the /dev/mouse symlink wasn't there when I installed udev. Is that another bug? Anyway, I added it, and after rebooting it was still there but the mouse still didn't work. I'm using udev 030, and gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8. Devfs is in the kernel but I don't start it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install and run udev without devfs 2. 3. Actual Results: The mouse doesn't work Expected Results: The mouse works
The mouse seems to work now, so I don't know what was wrong. Sorry about that. It may have been a loose connection or something. I'll change it to invalid for now and wait until it happens again before re-opening the bug.
