you might want to easy down on the cflags, what is the version of libwnck you are using ? Why are you emerging acme btw, it is already included in control-center.
Well, to be honest -- I didn't know it was included in gnome-control-center. Also, my cflags aren't that exotic.

Created attachment 38888 [details, diff] fixes timestamp compile failure Hi. Failed compiling on mine, somewhere libwnck changed. This is a revised version of the alsa-acme-2.4.2 patch with a simple change to null the timestamp.
then it wont compile with the older libwncks this version was actually meant for.
I was instructed to install acme in a thread involving getting an hp pavillion laptop's keyboard buttons functioning. I don't use gnome, I therefore don't automatically get the gnome control panel. I did find a suggestion from elsewhere on how to solve this problem: emerge --oneshot '<libwnck-2.6.2.1' which circumvented the problem for me. The tone of the responses here indicate that this *bug* should be marked as WONTFIX not INVALID. The proper solution to this bug is to either: 1) disallow acme with version of libwnck >= 2.6.2.1 and/or create a new version of the acme ebuild for libwnck >= 2.6.2.1 or 2) fix the configure script for acme to accomodate the changes in libwnck

The work around in comment #7 worked for me as well. I have a new install of Gentoo I am working with and have not (to my knowledge) done anything unusual or overly aggressive. I have to agree with John Tillman and do not think this bug is 'Resolved' or 'Invalid'. -Jay

I don't feel this bug is resloved, as it is still valid and occurs on my system as well. I will try the workaround.
well ok, acme should still be removed i guess.
Is there a replacement?
you might wanna try lineak

yep, lineak works great :>
