Going to the changelog I see every day new packages being added to the Portage-tree. However the total number of packages available on http://www.gentoo.org/index-packages.html is for a long time 2317. The today's list of Gentoo Packages on http://www.gentoo.org/index-packages-old.html is for a long time 2168. The update-mechanism isn't working anymore. Regards, John Herdy. BTW: why are these numbers different (2317 and 2168)?
the package list is actually based on the packages the server knows about at the time of the website re-build, this may and often does lag behind the actually number, and is purely ment as a guide, as for why they're different, I'll look into it, the two pages are from two seperate scripts so it may be easier for me to integrate them into one. Cheers. P
the package list is now at http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/pkgs/index.xml ... a cron job needs to be added on www.gentoo.org to run gentoo-xml/scripts/pkgs.py every day.
cron job has been added. the package list now updates once a day.
