Description Erik Thiele 2004-08-16 02:48:36 UTC
i entered a link to /usr/bin/xscanimage in my ~/.gimp-2.0/plug-ins directory.

when i start gimp, it finds the new plugin. it shows up in the file menu next to "acquire a screenshot" as expected. When i click on it, a dialog appears:

(translated from german...) "the plugin crashed, gimp could be broken now, please save pictures and restart"

on the console i see:

bash-2.05b$ gimp-2.0

GLib-ERROR **: could not allocate 1072693248 bytes
aborting...

(gimp-2.0:25031): Gimp-Plug-In-WARNING **: gimp-2.0: plug_in_flush(): error: Daten

if i start xscanimage directly, it works all right.

what versions of gimp, xsane and sane-* are you using here?
Comment 3 Erik Thiele 2005-03-29 21:28:57 UTC
i don't know why this problem existed, but it is gone now. you can close this bug please.

i added this to my /etc/portage/package.use:

media-gfx/sane-frontends gimp

and recompiled sane-frontends.

now both xsane and xscanimage plugins work in gimp-2.0
