Description Ooblick 2017-01-06 17:45:47 UTC
Gnucash 2.6.15 is now available. https://www.gnucash.org/ Please could the current 2.6.13 version be upgraded.

There are some issues with the new version linking against the old version libraries installed to the system instead of the ones being built, which ends up especially fun with guile-1 to guile-2 upgrade.
We could use some manpower help on solving this.

Updated ebuild available in my overlay, with fixes for the rpath problem and the debug build being always enabled problem: https://github.com/stefantalpalaru/gentoo-overlay/tree/master/app-office/gnucash
Comment 3 Ooblick 2017-01-09 18:57:44 UTC
This ebuild from the overlay for 2.6.15 works.

just tried a virgin install of gnucash-2.6.15-r1 ... no pre-existing install ..

install phase fails with linking errors sorry did not yet reproduce this

if a " pre-compiled binary install (quickpkg) of gnucash-2.6.15-r1 is installed first then gnucash will build and install properly..

somewhere in the install phase relinking occurs which leaks to the existing install and works .. but without an existing install it fails .. should this go into a new bug as comment #1 and #2 are relevant from this one .. the current tree ebuild has the problem of comment #1 .. in a fresh install
