Description EoD 2016-12-28 12:03:52 UTC
Currently libreoffice-bin depends on "media-libs/glew:0/1.10". With the new introduction of the "1.10" slot of media-libs/glew, the dependency should imho be widened to something like "=media-libs/glew-1.10*".

I don't have a proper test which proves that media-libs/glew:1.10 works, but I haven't had any issues with libreoffice with it.

This is similar, but not identical to bug 540098.

Thanks, that was I was looking for. It seems to work.

As you specified glew:0 before glew:1.10, does that mean that glew:0 is the default and glew:1.10 the fallback?

In some ways yes, but there is no clear rule. In any case, if glew:1.10 is installed emerge will be happy.
