From pipelight.net: """Pipelight has been discontinued! What does this mean? Pipelight will not suddenly stop working, but you will not receive any further updates. As a result all enabled plugins (e.g. Silverlight/Flash) stay at the same version and do not get any security fixes. This might be a security thread for your system and we therefore recommend to remove Pipelight using the package manager of your distribution.""" Apologies if I'm not following correct procedure - I asked #gentoo if there was any sort of policy I should be following and got no response.
# Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> (05 Jun 2017) # (on behalf of Treecleaner project) # Discontinued upstream. Plugins no longer get updates, resulting # in security vulnerabilities. # Removal in 30 days. Bug #603282. www-plugins/pipelight
Nice wrangle failure... Why wasn't wine cc'd... At the moment, plugins are still being updated, but all other devel has been ceased. Regardless, I'd masked it (or so I thought) a while back... # NP-Hardass <NP-Hardass@gentoo.org> (19 Jan 2017) # Upstream has discontinued Pipelight and Firefox is in the process # of removing NPAPI support (which Pipelight relies upon), making # this obsolete. # Masked for removal in 30 days. www-plugins/pipelight At the time, mrueg asked that it be kept for longer than 30 because current tree versions of firefox still support NPAPI. If you still want to remove it, and in this time frame, I'd say update the pmask to ^.
(In reply to NP-Hardass from comment #2) > Nice wrangle failure... Why wasn't wine cc'd... Probably because it's not listed as the maintainer for the package?
